In some ways the members of Christian band ODÉ can't recall a time when they weren't making music together. The band, whose sounds could be described as Casting Crowns meets Lynyrd Skynyrd, has more than a musical connection -- they're bound by familial ties. Front man Donald Rudd, his children, and his sister-in-law have been singing and playing together for years, although most of those sessions were unplugged and unrecorded at family gatherings, weddings, and church musicals. It wasn't until Rudd and sister-in-law Robin Barnett were inspired to write their own music that they began to get serious about forming a band. God opened doors, and they were careful and faithful to answer His call.
Family harmony is said to be the sweetest, and in that respect ODÉ doesn't disappoint.
Lead male vocalist Donald Rudd, pastor of Quitman Baptist Church in Quitman, LA has always had a passion for music (and the louder the better, more often than not!), and that passion shows through his songwriting and intense vocals.
Robin Barnett, sister to Bro. Rudd's wife Glenda, carries the lead female vocals in the band and also writes original material that the band performs.
Guitarist Moses Rudd, Bro. Rudd's oldest son brings that Southern rock and soulful sound that is exemplary of ODÉ's style.
On piano, keyboards and background vocals is Bro. Rudd's middle daughter, Mary. She also serves as pianist for Quitman Baptist Church and the Louisiana Tech Concert Choir, and her fervor for music is unmatched, whether playing Beethoven or Big Daddy Weave.
Sharing the responsibility for keyboard and synth pad is Mandy Rudd, youngest of the Rudd girls.
Keeping ODÉ in rhythm is Max Rudd, Bro. Rudd's youngest son. Starting at 12 years of age Max has been "grooving up slowly" and now at 15 years has developed an awesome feel for various styles of music. Although ODE's on music is his favorite.
Playing bass guitar and background vocals for ODE' is
Leverle Donahue who although is not in the blood family line is certainly a fit with us musically and spiritually.
